Who can forget their first time camping in a tent under the stars? What about catching your first fish or the friendships built during a group hunting trip? This program is a summertime hit! It’s a fantastic way to get young people outdoors and into new, mind-opening territory. PAL-KCK provides the gear and camping equipment, as well as the instruction and mentorship that naturally arises from overcoming challenges and learning together in the great outdoors. Many of the participants wouldn’t otherwise have access to these experiences in their own families and neighborhoods. This program allows them to gain knowledge about local wildlife, conservation, fishing and hunting while building positive associations and relationships with their instructors (police officers and volunteers).
