Gun Safety and Marksmanship

Gun safety and education are essential in the prevention of gun violence and accidents. These skills are especially important to our youth who are disproportionately affected by the effects of poverty and crime. The Air Rifle program is led by three police officers certified to teach riflery through Kansas Wildlife and Parks — the same training provided in hunting education courses. Participants learn gun safety, education and marksmanship — and gain an understanding of the seriousness of firearms and the responsibilities of gun ownership.
